The SchuyLab Billing Module is a feature of the SchuyLab system.
In the hands of a medical biller, the Billing Module is a powerful
tool. SchuyLab comes with a Basic Billing Report Feature, but you
can also upgrade to the Complete Billing Module.
What makes the Billing Module special? It permits the user to bill
the procedures ordered for the patients -- without having to enter
the patients' names and tests a second time. The information entered
on the patient during the course of laboratory analysis automatically
becomes part of the billing record: name, patient ID, doctor's name,
and of course the tests and procedures performed. Yet at the same
time, the Billing Module is sufficiently independent from the laboratory
setup that special pricing or billing protocols can be inserted painlessly,
without interfering with the lab tests themselves.
Basic Billing Report Feature
(Comes with SchuyLab)
- Enter one price for each test and panel.
- Enter one billing code (CPT code) for each test and panel.
- Enter diagnosis (ICD9) code for each patient.
- Prints reports for given range of dates or accessions, lists
procedures ordered, ICD9 codes, and revenue generated.
- Reports can be sorted by client or by type of financial
provider (insurance carrier).
Complete Billing Module
(Optional Feature)
- Basic Billing Report Features
- Multiple fee schedules for each test and panel. Schedules can
be attached to clients or bill types.
- Each separate fee schedule can define a billing code (CPT code)
to be used for any test or panel charged to that schedule.
- Enter diagnosis (ICD9) code for each patient.
- Prints reports for given range of dates or accessions, lists
procedures ordered, ICD9 codes, and revenue generated.
- Reports can be sorted by client or by type of financial provider
(insurance carrier). When sorted by client, the report uses the
fee schedule defined for that client.
- Generates claims, which can be edited: charges, payments, and
write-offs can be added.
- Prints client invoices, sorted by client. Invoices may be edited
and reprinted.
- Medicare, Medicaid, Electronic Transmission (Check for availability
in your area)
